“It all started when I was working in Sydney. My clientele consisted mainly of surfers, swimmers, tri athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. They often wore their hair very naturally, very much wash – or even no wash – and go.
It seemed a waste of time to me to wash straighten and cut their hair as they never wore it that way and because of their frequent time in the ocean, their hair was often curly, or at the very least, wavy.
So, 25 years ago with that in mind I began to cut their hair dry using my version of the curl by curl method.
I gained a reputation for cutting curls using the dry cut method whilst working as a platinum stylist for the Servilles group of salons. I wrote several articles on how to achieve great results using natural methods to cut, style and maintain curly/wavy hair.
My mission is to constantly improve my products and my methods to find solutions to the many challenges that curly, wavy and frizzy hair presents. And I do this by analysing the feedback from my curly clients.
I am honoured to be included in this global movement and will strive to adhere to its principals while still keeping both myself and curly clients inspired.”
